Shab-e-Barat (Fifteenth (15th) Night of Shaban/Shabaan)

Source Website: http://www.minhaj.org/ (Minhaj-ul-Quran)

Shab-e-Barat
By Muhammad Hanif

Humans worship Allah Almighty and He rewards the efforts of the worshippers. But there are some special occasions when one’s heart gets softened and one naturally feels more inclined to His obedience. The softness of hearts deepens as well. On such occasions, the very environment seems emitting spiritual enjoyment. Shab-e-Barat is one such occasion.

Literally, Shab-e-Barat means the night of salvation or the night of freedom from the Fire of Hell. It occurs in Mid-Shaban – between the 14th and 15th day of Shaban. This night, known as Shab-e-Barat or Laylat-ul-Baraa, is called Laylatun Nisf min Shaban in Arabic. The blessed night starts at sunset on the 14th and ends at dawn on the 15th.

The Muslims observe Mid-Shaban as a night of worship and salvation. Some spend the whole night awake and some worship half of it. We should not be negligent on this occasion, because people are shown grace on this auspicious night. During this night, traditions of the Messenger tell us, Allah determines the destiny of all people, including whether a person is to live or die in the coming year.

For the proof of the merit of Shab-e-Barat, the following verses of the Holy Qur’an are cited:

“Surely, We have sent it (the Holy Qur’an) down in a blessed night. Surely, We are the Warner. In this (night) judgment is given on all matters of wisdom (separately) by Our Command.” (Sura ad-Dukhan, 44:3-5)

Imam Qurtubi and Imam Jalal-ud-Din Suyuti hold that the verses refer to Laylatun Nisf min Shaban or Shab-e-Barat.

The whole of the month of Shaban is meritorious. Its excellent merit is evident from a tradition narrated by Aisha, the mother of the faithful: “The Prophet did not fast in any month more than Shaban.” (Sahih Bukhari)

Though fasts were not obligatory on him, the Prophet, yet he observed them most of the month.

The special merit is attached to Shab-e-Barat. Aisha, the mother of the faithful, also reported: “The Prophet said: ‘On the middle night of Shaban (that is, Shab-e-Barat), Allah most high descends to the lowest heaven and remits more sins than the hair of the goats of Banu Kalb.’” (Jami Tirmidhi)

A third tradition of Hazrat Aisha, the truthful, states that the Holy Prophet asked: “Do you know what happens this night?” meaning the middle night of Shaban (that is, Shab-e-Barat). She submitted: “O Allah’s Messenger, what happens in it?” He replied: “In it record is made of every human being who will be born, and of every human being who will pass away this year. In it their deeds are taken up to heaven and in it their provisions are sent down.” (Baihaqi)

The pious predecessors of the Muslim nation have always observed this night as a night of special blessings and have spent it in divine service. According to Imam Nawawi, there are five sacred nights when supplication is answered, one of them being the night of the 15th of Shaban.

Apart from worshipping on this night, fasting the following day is also recommended. It is reported from Hazrat Ali that the Holy Prophet said: “When the middle night of Shaban arrives, spend it in worship and fast during the day. On this night, at sunset, Allah descends to the nearest heaven and announces: ‘Is there no one asking forgiveness that I may forgive him? Is there no one asking provision that I may grant him provision? Is there no one afflicted that I may relieve them? Is there not such and such?’ (He keeps announcing) till the dawn comes.”

The special blessings of Almighty descend during the night. According to Muadh ibn Jabal, Allah’s Messenger said: “Allah Almighty looks upon all those created by Him in the middle night of Shaban and forgives all those created by Him. Excepted is the one who associates partners with Him, or the one who has malice in his heart.”

This night should be spent in worshipping Allah from the depth of heart. It is the time to focus one’s attention to Him alone. It is the time to enjoy the direct contact with Allah, Most Compassionate, Ever-Merciful. Most of all, it is the time for reforming one’s life to come.

The Virtues of Shaban
By: Ali Akbar Alvi

It is admitted fact that every moment, second, minute, hour, day or night that is spent in the submission of Allah Almighty and His Beloved Prophet (SAW) is exceedingly meaningful and precious. But there are some days, nights and months which have their own weight and Allah, the compassionate, lays immense stress upon them to unveil their importance to his rationale creatures.

Among those months, those hold much importance is Moharram, Rajab, Sha’ban and the holy month of Ramadhan but Sha’ban holds the top position among these holy months as the Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAW) holds the top position among all the Prophets like Hazrat Ibrahim, Hazrat Musa and Hazrat Isa (aalhimissalam)

The Holy Month of Sha’ban is one of the blessed months that holds much too for us from the mercy, compassion and kindness of Allah Almighty. This is the month that is the best of all months in the estimation of Allah. Its days are the best among the days; its nights are the best among the nights. Its hours are the best among the hours. It is the month that gave time its spirituality, and thus made its days the best days and its hours the best hours. It is preparatory month that welcomes the holy month of Ramadhan. If we study the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW), He used to avail himself the moments of this month to the utmost and spend more time in adoration, submission of Allah almighty and seek salvation and earn the infinite mercy of Allah Subhana hu watala.

Once the Holy Prophet (SAW) said

“Sha’ ban is my month”

As Aaqa (SAW) called it my month, so its significance and importance touches to the sky because every thing that has got any link directly or indirectly with the holy Prophet (SAW) becomes an exalted thing for his true followers and momineen.

Hazrat Imam Ali bin Hussein Al-Zaynul Aabideen (A.S.) told his companions:"The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) used to observe fast during the whole month of Sha'ban. Therefore whoso, in love of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), wishes to seek nearness to Allah and receive bounties, favors and rewards in this world and in the Hereafter, must connect Sha'ban with Ramadan (in the matter of fasting and special prayers).

The blessed companion Anas (RA) reports that the Holy Prophet (SAW) was asked,
"Which fast is the most meritorious after the fasts of Ramadhan?" He replied, "Fasts of Sh`baan in honour of Ramadhan."

The blessed companion Usama ibn Zaid (RA) reports that he asked the Holy Prophet (SAW) : "Messenger of Allah, I have seen you fasting in the month of Sh`baan so frequently that I have never seen you fasting in any other month." The Holy Prophet (SAW) replied: "That (Sha`baan) is a month between Rajab and Ranadhan which is neglected by many people. And it is a month in which an account of the deeds (of human beings) is presented before the Lord of the universe. So, I wish that my deeds be presented at a time when I am in a state of fasting."

These reports indicate that fasting in the month of Sha`baan, though not obligatory, is so meritious that the Holy Prophet (SAW) did not like to miss it. But it should be get in mind that the fasts of Sha`baan are for those persons only who are capable of keeping them without causing deficiency in the obligatory fasts of Ramadhan.

It is the habit of the Muslims to celebrate some auspicious events during the month of Sha'ban by praying, reciting Quran, praising Allah, and making a great deal of supplication to Allah during that night.Sha’ban is like an introduction to Ramadan and it has some things in common with Ramadan, such as fasting, reciting Holy Quran and giving in charity. It has been narrated that upon the arrival of Rajab the Holy Prophet (SW) used to pray "O' Allah! Bless us abundantly in Rajab and Sha'ban and deliver us safely unto Ramadan."

Shab-e-Barrah, the blessed night , on which the names of those who are to leave the world in the year to come and the ones who would arrive into this world of test and trial are registered, the supplications are answered, the salvation is allocated, the doors of mercy are opened, the doors of love are opened.

It is the night of seeking pardon and repentance .It is the holy month when we remember of our past acts of disobedience, transgression and sins and resolute not to commit them again rest of our life. On this Night, Allah Almighty specially accepts our prayers and Istighfar.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) gives tremendous ipmortance to the blessed night as Allah lmighty has declared this night as “Laila tul mobaraka” Except Ikrama, all other veteran religious scholars agree that this blessed night is the night of 15th of Sha’ban .

Hadrat Aisha {may Allah be pleased with her} said, once Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him}) asked me, "O Aisha, what night is this?" She replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best.”Then he said: during which worldly actions and the deeds of mankind are carried aloft. In this night as numerous as the wool of the flocks of the tribe of Kalb, are the slaves of Allah, freed from the fire of hell. So will you excuse me tonight?" She said:" I said yes, So he performed his prayer like this: He held the upright position only briefly, and recited AL-Hamd and a short Sura then he stayed in prostration till middle of night .then he stood upto begin the second rak'at [cycle] with a recitation similar to the first, and then his prostration lasted until dawn."

Our Prophet {peace be upon him} went to Jannat-ul-Baqqi (the blessed graveyard in Madina)

Hadrat Ayesha {may Allah be pleased with her} once said: " I could not find Allah's Messenger {peace be upon him} one night, So I went outside there he was in Jannat-ul-baqqi {the blessed cemetery},his hand turned up toward the sky. Then he said to me: 'Were you afraid that Allah and His Messenger would treat you unfairly?' I replied: 'O Messenger of Allah, I thought that you had gone to one of your [other] wives.' He {peace be upon him} said:' On the night of mid-Sha'ban, Allah {Exalted is He} descends to the lowest heaven and forgives more than the number of woolly hairs on the flocks and herds of [the tribe of Kalb]."

How to spend the Holy Night?
Different scholars and spiritualists have reported different prayers to spend this bless night but the most famous prayer recommended by them is Salat-ul-Khair which consists of 100 raka'ts, in each raka't reciting Sura al-Fatiha and 10 Surat Ikhlas. To complete the prayer one recites 1000 Sura Ikhlas.

Question  Assalam-o-alekum: what is the reality of \"Shab-e-Brat\"? Is there any proof from shariah regarding Shab-e-Brat? guide me with detail answer with reference to hadith.

Answer  Virtues of the fifteenth night of the month of Sha'aban which is also called customarily as Shab e Bara'ath are recorded in Narrations of Ahadees from almost ten Sahabas. Hence there is no harm if some more Ibadath are done individually in this night in comparison to other nights. But, making arrangement for special gatherings in Mosques, decorating Mosques with illuminations etc, and taking mesures to perform particular type of Salath are not found in the golden era famous for all the excellence, i.e., are not established in the era of Sahaba, Thabi'een or Thab'u th Thaabi'een. Therefore should refrain from such things. Allah knows best.

Question  respected sir, Aslamu alekum! i just want to ask about the reality of Shab e Baraat last night it was celeberated all over the country.but my friend who is doing a course of Allam in Mainawali he told me that acording to Deoband Ulmas Shab e Barat has no such importnace and blessing,he said that Hazrat Abu Bakar Jassas R.A and Ibn e Arabi R.A had denied the blessing of that night..He also give me the refrence from Marraful Quran Volume 7 by Mufti Muhammad Shafi in which Mufti Sahab said that the ibadat doing in Shab e Barat is a Bidat..... Please guide me and tell me what is the reality... i wl be very thankful to you..

Answer  Virtues of Shab e Bara'ath, making arrangement to do Nawafil and Ibadath in that night, observing fasting on the day of it, etc are although established through such Ahadees of which the chain of narrators are weak, yet , due to frequency of narrations and miscellaneous avenues of recordings, they possess some sort of a strength. Therefore, most of the elders have accepted it and virtues of it are, among them, agreed upon because there is an allowance to act on weak narrations too, as far as virtues are concerned (Ma'arif ul Qur'an Vol 7, p 758) And same is the view of Ulama e Deoband too, however collective Ibadath in the Masjid, decorating the Masjid with lights and distribution of sweet dishes and performing Nafl with congregation etc. are not established, yet, due to the virtues of this night there is no harm in making arrangement to perform Ibadath in this night individually. Allah knows best.

Question  Please inform the virtues of Shab e Bara’ath in the light of Hadees or Shari’a. Are there any Nafls in this night and fasting in the day? If so, then what is the speciality in this night as people celebrate this night saying Shab e Bara’ath?

Answer  Virtues of this night are recorded in Ahadees e Mubaraka. And, in some narrations it is mentioned that Allah Tha'ala frees a large number of captives from Jahannum in this night. Probably due to this reason this night is interpreted as Shab e Bara'ath (night of acquittal). Therefore comparing to other nights if precaution is taken to engage in more Nawafil and Ibadath in this night and to observe fasting in the day if one is capable of doing so does not make any harm, but performing collective Ibadath in the Masjid, decorating the Masjid with illuminations and distribution of sweet dishes and performing Nafl with congregation etc. are not established. However, due to the virtues of this night there is no harm in making arrangement to perform Ibadath in this night individually. Allah knows best.

Question  Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmathullahi wa Barakathuhu What is the difference between Shab e Bara'ath and Shab e Qadr? Also inform the importance of Shab e Bara'ath (15th Sha'ban)? Does the destiny of all the living beings are decided in this night or no? Or this decision is made on Shab e Qadr? There are many misconcepts found with regard to this night (15th Sha'ban) and please correct us. Awaiting your reply. Faizan Rizvi Jazakallah

Answer  A major and clear difference between Shab e Qadr and Shab e Bara'ath is with regard to the months. Shab e Qadr is one of the un-identified nights in the last ten days of Ramadhan while the fifteenth night of the month of Sha'ban is called as Shab e Bara'ath. Secondly the complete Qur'an e Kareem was descended to the worldly heaven from Lauhul Mahfoozh on Shab e Qadr and not in Shab e Bara'ath. According to the saying of Hadhrath Ibn Abbas Radhiyallahu Anhu all the important matters that are to happen pertaining to the creations such as sustenance, birth, death etc. till the next Shab e Qadr are decided in this night. These are the views of Qatada, Mujahid and Hasan Rahimahumullah as well. Since the same, with regard to sustenance, life, death etc is mentioned about the Shab e Bara'ath too, some commentators of Qur'an have explained the view that, overall decision is made on Shab e Bara'ath i.e the 15th night of Sha'ban and the detailed decision is made on Shab e Qadr. As for the virtues regarding Shab e Bara'ath, although the Ahadees e Mubaraka in this connection are weak with respect to the chain of narrators, yet, due to frequency of narrations and miscellaneous avenues of recordings, they possess some sort of a strength. Therefore, Ulemas have agreed upon the virtues of this night. Hence it is encouraged in Ahadees too to engage in more Nawafil and Ibadath in this night compared to other nights and to observe fasting in the day but there is no proof whatsoever for making gatherings and adhering to perform collective Ibadatah, decorating the Masjid with illuminations and distribution of sweet dishes etc. Therefore it is necessary to refrain from such practice. Allah knows best.

Question  What is the status of Shab e Bara’ath (15th night of Sha’ban) in Islam? Does Allah really take account of everybody as to how much Rizq to be allocated etc. etc..? Why does Shab e Bara’ath be celebrated? Waiting for your reply. Please answer me in detail.

Answer  It is impossible to reject the virtues of this night due to the following Hadees and other narrations similar to this. It is understood from some other narrations that this is the night where decision is made on important matters such as death, birth and Rizq (sustenance) etc. of the year's duration by Allah and handed over to the angels. Also the Benevolent Master pays his attention towards His slaves in particular and forgives them (in this night). Apparently due to this reason it is also called Shab e Bara'ath. However, in spite of all this, there is no special Ibadath mentioned for this night and this is the night of individual Ibadath. Whatever Ibadath that could be performed well with convenience should not be missed and should refrain from other useless activities. Allah knows best.

Question  Asslam O Alaikum! Sir, Please help me to clearify the concept of Shaba-e-Barat. I have try to clearify this concept that there is no concept of Shaba-e-Barat in Islam. In Pakistan many people belive in that day and they dont have any reference of Quran or hadith. Please tell me how to rectify their belive? Thank you

Answer  Virtues of the 15th night of Sha'ban which is also known as Shab e Bara'ath is recorded in Ahadees e Mubaraka narrated from more than ten Companions and there is no denial in the fact that righteous predecessors individually used to make more Ibadath in this night. However making arrangements in this night to have gatherings in Masjid, decorating Masjid with illuminations etc. are no where established, therefore it is necessary that the enquirer try to prohibit people from engaging in myths and extravaganzas in this night and not to refute the virtues of this night generally. Allah knows best.

Question  Kindly let me know about the significance of 15 shaban in the light of Quran and Sahee Ahadith.

Answer  Many Narrations of Sahaba in connection with 15th Sha'ban are recorded through which the importance of this night is exposed whereas with regard to the day of it, there is a Narration where observing Fasting is mentioned on the day. This is just a Nafl Fasting and the current methods of Ibadath in the night and fasting in the day which is commonly practiced by the general public are just traditions and refraining from which is necessary. Allah knows best.

PRAYER FOR 15th SHABAAN (Shab-e-Baraat, Shab-e-Barah)

Fifteenth (15th) Night of Shaban/Shabaan (Laylatul Baraat / Shab-e-Baraat (Barah)) Prayer

Source Website: http://www.binoria.org/ (Darul Iftha, Jamia Binoria)

Shabaan & Laylatul Bara'at  Prayer for 15th Shaban Night

Allah (swt), out of His infinite mercy, has created varying seasons throughout the year for people's benefit. Similarly, Allah (swt) has also assigned different seasons for particular ibadah. These are special times designated by Allah (swt) for increased Ibadah.

Of course, a Mu'min is expected to be performing Ibadah continuously throughout his or her life, but these special opportunities exist so that every believer may get a chance to attain closeness to Allah (swt) and earn manifold rewards.

One of these blessed opportunities is the month of Shabaan. It is reported in authentic hadith that Rasulullah (saw) used to particularly increase his Ibadah in this month. It is recorded in Sahih al Bukhari :

Aishah radhiallahu anhaa narrates: The Blessed Prophet (saw) fasted for so long [so many days] we thought he would never break his fast. Then he would do iftar (for so many days) we thought he will never fast. I have never seen the Blessed Prophet (saw) fast for a whole month besides the month of Ramadan and keep more fasts [outside of Ramadan] than in the month of Shabaan. (Reported in Bukhari, Muslim, Nisai, Abu Dawood)

Usamah bin Zaid narrates that I said:
Oh Blessed Prophet (saw)! I do not see you fasting any month more than the month of Shabaan. The Blessed Prophet (saw) replied:
People are ignorant of it, being between the months of Rajab and Ramadan. All deeds are raised towards Rabb ul Alameen in that month. Thus, I wish that my deeds are raised when I am fasting. (Reported in Nisai, Musnad Ahmad)

Aisha radhiallahu anhaa narrates that I never saw the Blessed Prophet (saw) fast in any month more than the month of Shabaan. He used to fast the whole month except for some days; in fact, he used to fast the whole month (of Shabaan). (Reported in Nisai, Abu Dawood, Musnad Ahmad)

Abu Huraira (ra) relates that Aisha radhiallahu anhaa narrated to them the hadith that the Blessed Prophet (saw) fasted the whole month of Shabaan. She said: I asked the Blessed Prophet (saw): Oh Blessed Prophet (saw), is Shabaan your most favorite month to fast? He replied: Allah (swt) assigns the year of death for each person (in the month of Shabaan), thus, I wish my death come when I am fasting. (The chain of narration is ranked "Hasan" in al-Targheeb wal Tarheeb and is also related in Musnad Abu Yala)

The following things are very clear from the several ahaadith above:

1.The month of Shabaan is a very important month and Shari'ah encourages us to perform optional Ibadah during this month
2.Rasulullah (saw) used to fast most of the month of Shabaan
3.In this month, all of the people's deeds are presented to Allah (swt)
4.Rasulullah (saw) disliked for the people to neglect the importance of the month of Shabaan
5.In Shabaan, the list of all the people that are suppose to die in that year are handed over to the angels.

In addition to all of these virtues, there is particular emphasis for the 15th of Shabaan which is called Laylatul Bara'a. Although some people deny the importance of the 15th night of Shabaan; there are authentic ahaadith which clearly indicate its importance.

The following few hadith have been presented with scholarly critique in order to illustrate the special virtues of this night so people are not deprived of a great opportunity of Ibadah through which they can attain more nearness to Allah (swt).

Hadith 1

It is related by Muaz bin Jabbal (ra) that the Blessed Prophet (saw) said: Allah (swt) looks over at his creation on the fifteenth night of Shabaan and forgives everyone but for two people: a polytheist and one who holds a grudge against people.

Imam Ibn Hibban has narrated this hadith in his Sahih, Imam Bayhaqi in his Shua'bal Imaan, Imam Tabarani in Al Mu'jam al Kabeer, & Abu Nu'aym in Al Hulya. Imam Haithami has also narrated this hadith in his Majmu'al Zawaid and after narrating it, he has commented that all of the people in the chain of narrators of the above hadith are trustworthy and this hadith is authentic.

This hadith is also narrated by Imam Mundhari in Al Targheeb wal Tarheeb, Imam Suyuti in Durrul Manthoor, & the late Shaykh Albani has also narrated this hadith in his Silsilah Sahiha (a book in which he has narrated only authentic hadith according to him.)

Hadith 2

It is related by Abu Thalaba (ra) that the Blessed Prophet (saw) said: On the 15th night of Shabaan, Allah (swt) looks over at his creation and forgives all the believers except for the one who begrudges and hates. He leaves them in their enmity.

This hadith is narrated by Bayhaqi (raheemullah) in Shubal Imaan, Hafiz Ibn Abi Asim in Kitabus Sunnah, Imam Suyuti in Durrel Manthoor, and Shaykh Albani confirms its authenticity by narrating it in his Silsilah Sahiha.

Hadith 3

Sayyidina Abdullah bin Amar (ra) has narrated that Rasulullah (saw) has said, "Allah (swt) on the 15th night of Shabaan looks at the people and He forgives all believers except for two kinds of people: 1) Someone who holds a grudge against others and 2) someone who has taken an innocent life.

This hadith is narrated by Imam Mundhiri in Al-Targheeb wal Tarheeb, Imam Ahmad in his Musnad, and Hafiz Al Haithami in Majmual Zawaid. Shaykh Albani has narrated this hadith in his Silsilah Sahiha and after a lengthy discussion regarding its chain of narrators; he concludes that this hadith is Hassan.

In addition to the above, we find most of the great scholars have confirmed the importance and the virtue of the 15th night of Sha'ban. Following are some quotations.

1) Sheikh Mansoor Bahoti Hanbali says in his well known book of Hanbali fiqh Kash-shaful Qina, Vol1:444

As for the 15th night of Shabaan, it is a night of virtue. Some of the salaf prayed the whole night, although establishing congregational prayers (on this night) is bida't (an innovation). And the reward of ibadah on the 15th night of Shabaan is the same as the reward of ibadah on the night of E'id.

2) Imam Shafi rahmatullahi alayh said in Al-Umm, Vol. 1 p. 231:

قال الشافعي وبلغنا أنه كان يقال إن الدعاء يستجاب في خمس ليال في ليلة الجمعة وليلة الأضحى وليلة الفطر وأول ليلة من رجب وليلة النصف من شعبان   - الأم ج: 1 ص: 231

Imam Shafi said, "of the narrations that have reached us, verily, dua is accepted on five nights: the night of Juma', the night of E'id Al-Adha, the night of E'id Al-Fitr, the first night of Rajab, and the 15th night of Shabaan".

3) Shaikh Abu-Ishaq Ibrahim Al-Hanbali says in Al-Mubdi':

ويستحب إحياء ما بين العشائين للخبر قال جماعة وليلة عاشوراء وليلة أول رجب وليلة نصف شعبان   - المبدع ج: 2 ص: 27

It is desirable to revive the time (with salat and ibadah) between the two E'sha's (Maghrib and E'sha) because of the ahaadith. Many scholars say: Similarly with the night of Ashura, the first night of Rajab, and the 15th night of Shabaan.

4) Imam Shurunbulali Hanafi rahmatullahi alayh says in Noorul Eidhah P.63:

It is desirable to revive the last ten nights of Ramadan, two nights of Eidain (Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha), ten nights of Zil Hijjah, and the 15th night of Shabaan.

5) Imam Ibn-Taimiyyah rahmatullahi alayh was asked about the importance of the 15th night of Sha'ban. He replied:

As for the 15th night of Shabaan, there are many narrations and Athar (quotes from the Sahabah (ra)) regarding its virtue. It has been reported of the salaf that they prayed in this night. Therefore, praying alone on this night, having precedence in the salaf, is sufficient evidence and something of this kind surely cannot be denied.

6) At another occasion, Imam Ibn-Taimiyyah rahmatullahi alayh was asked the same question and he replied:

If one prays on this night alone or in a select company of people as many groups amongst the salaf did, then it is good. As for congregating in the masjid upon a fixed prayer like gathering upon a salat with 100 rakats, and reciting Surah Ikhlas a thousand times, this is bida't. None of the scholars extolled this and Allah (swt) knows best.

7) Shaikh Mubarakpuri writes in Tuhfatul Ahwadhi Vol.3 P.365:

اعلم أنه قد ورد في فضيلة ليلة النصف من شعبان عدة أحاديث مجموعها يدل على أن لها أصلا - تحفة الأحوذي ج: 3 ص: 365

You should know that a sufficient number of hadith has been narrated confirming the virtues of the 15th night of Shabaan. All these ahaadith prove that it has a basis.

After relating many Ahadith about the importance of this night he says:

فهذه الأحاديث بمجموعها حجة على من زعم أنه لم يثبت في فضيلة ليلة النصف من شعبان شيء والله تعالى أعلم - تحفة الأحوذي ج: 3 ص: 367

The sum of all these ahadith is strong evidence against the one who thinks there is no proof of the virtue of the 15th night of Shabaan and Allah (swt) knows best.

May Allah (swt) give all of us tawfeeq to take advantage of this great opportunity and blessing of Allah (swt). Ameen!!!
